DULCHE is on a mission to bring a playful twist to the world of speciality coffee and artisan gelato, crafting unique flavour combinations and experiences that will leave our customers wanting more. DULCHE combines the passions of two (half-)italian brothers, both of whom have a massive sweet tooth and want to share their indulgences with the city. Our newly opened cafe and gelateria is based in Central London (Oxford Circus).
About the Role
As our Manager, you’ll be the heart and soul of our Oxford Street store. We are looking for a partner in developing this business. You’ll be responsible for creating an amazing customer experience, developing a top-notch team, and ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the shop. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be leading by example, inspiring your team, and always striving for excellence. We also want your ideas as you learn from our customers - what are the dream dessert and coffee combos they’d love to see in future.
We can provide a flexible schedule. Shifts are planned across 07:30 - 15:30 and 15:30 - 23:30. Our idea of providing a work-life balance means ensuring , a 40hr work week and shifts under 10hrs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and develop a team of passionate baristas and gelato enthusiasts, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- Customer Experience: Deliver an exceptional customer experience, ensuring every interaction is welcoming, engaging, and memorable.
- Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, cash handling, and health & safety compliance.
- Coffee Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of speciality coffee, ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency in every cup. We did invest in a La Marzocco machine after all!
- Product Knowledge: Be a DULCHE brand ambassador, confidently communicating our unique offerings and guiding customers through our menu.
- Sales & Profitability: Drive sales and profitability, achieving set targets and implementing strategies to maximise revenue.
- Brand Standards: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer service, ensuring a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.
About You
You’re a natural leader with a passion for coffee and a genuine desire to help build up a thriving business. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a keen eye for detail, and are always willing to go the extra mile. You’re a team player who loves to develop others and create a positive and supportive work environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Coffee Shop Manager or in a similar role, ideally within a speciality coffee environment.
- Accountable for the smooth day-to-day running of the café
- A deep understanding of speciality coffee, including different brewing methods and origins.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both customers and team members.
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop a team.
- A positive and proactive attitude, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
- Achieve set KPI’s across sales, profitability, labour planning, COG’s, employee engagement
- Contribute to strategic planning by reporting to owners on performance, guest experience, output, trends etc
Bonus Points:
- Experience working with speciality coffee roasters and developing unique blends.
- A passion for gelato and a knowledge of different flavours and production methods.
