We’re looking for an exceptional Coffee Truck Manager to lead the opening of Paddington’s next great specialty coffee spot and manage a small team of coffee professionals.
Our beautifully styled outdoor coffee truck is situated at Paddington Basin from January 2025. Our new location will deliver exceptional hospitality, a welcoming environment and foster a community for people to connect over delicious coffee, bakes and more.
Our Coffee Truck Manager will manage a team of 2 Baristas and report to the Truck Director. The start date for this role is Mid-January 2025.

We want our Coffee Truck Manager to:
• Consistently deliver specialty coffee to an exceptional standard. We serve our signature coffee, No. 1 Ant’s Blend created by the team at Triple Co Roast in Bristol. • Provide outstanding customer service and build relationships with our customers and local community. • Ensure baristas work professionally, with energy and purpose. • Bring new ideas to further integrate excellence and innovation into the coffee truck’s practices. • Act as a brand ambassador for Dear Coco.
Core roles & responsibilities
Operations Management:
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the coffee truck, including opening and closing procedures. • Order and manage stock (coffee beans, milk, bakes, disposables, etc.). Monitor stock age and minimise wastage. • Organise the staff rota. • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and licences. • Ensure the truck and retail items are fully stocked at the start and end of each day. • Maintain a clean and organised coffee truck, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Customer Service & Experience:
• Deliver outstanding customer service, creating a welcoming environment for all customers. • Represent Dear Coco to customers and partners with a clear understanding of the business and premium positioning within the coffee industry. • Ensure efficient, friendly service while maintaining high standards.
Coffee Quality & Barista Leadership:
• Ensure coffee quality and consistency is maintained throughout the day. • Train, mentor, and lead the Barista team, ensuring high standards are maintained. • To effectively lead the Barista team by example and implement efficient systems and policies.
Sales, Event & Promotion Support:
• Assist with business promotional activities, including private events. • Contribute ideas for improving sales, promotions and customer experience.
Profile of our ideal candidate:
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Barista. • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Coffee Shop managerial / Head Barista role. • Loves working outdoors. • Confident dialling in the coffee equipment and working with specialty coffee. • Ability to troubleshoot issues with the coffee machine and grinders. • Ability to maintain equipment (coffee machine, grinders, burr changes etc). • Excellent customer service and communication skills. • Ability to lead, motivate and train other Baristas. • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. • A passion for coffee and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. • Understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
