This role plays an important role in ensuring exceptional customer service and smooth daily operations. This position requires a dynamic individual who can lead shifts, maintain high standards, foster customer relationships, and contribute to a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service

Deliver friendly, helpful, and genuine customer service. Cater to individual customer needs and build relationships with regulars. Maintain and communicate knowledge of our offerings. Stay informed about new coffees, menu items, and tasting notes. Assist the cafe manager to organise community events and partnerships to grow awareness and sales

Café Operations

Lead shifts in the absence of the Café Manager. Problem solve and resolve issues calmly and efficiently. Ensure the café is clean and ‘customer ready’ at all times. Monitor the customer experience, including atmosphere and presentation. Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and food. Maintain accuracy in financial transactions and inventory levels. Participate in the planning and execution of events and catering jobs.

Operational Tasks

Order supplies and manage inventory. Communicate with suppliers and manage orders. Manage staff rotas and fill shifts as needed. Onboard and train new staff. Manage machine servicing and equipment purchases. Update menus and manage pricing.

Team Environment

Support and collaborate with colleagues. Follow Health and Safety and sustainability guidelines.

Requirements

Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of coffee and café operations Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.
