Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Coffee to join our team and work closely with the owner to guide the direction of our coffee business for the years to come. This senior role will report directly to the Head of Operations and will be instrumental in shaping our coffee philosophy, enhancing our offerings, and ensuring that every cup we serve reflects our commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the owner and Head of Operations to develop and implement a vision for our coffee program that aligns with our heritage and customer expectations. Oversee our roasting and warehouse teams to maximise efficiency and ensure consistent high standards
- Sourcing & Quality Control: Oversee the sourcing of high-quality green coffee beans, ensuring transparency and sustainability while maintaining our reputation for excellence.
- Profile Development: Tailor roast profiles and create seasonal offerings that excite our customers and reflect current trends in the coffee market.
- Training & Mentorship: Train and inspire our team, sharing your expertise in coffee roasting, cupping, and customer service to foster a culture of excellence.
- Customer Engagement: Act as the face of our coffee program, building relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry professionals to enhance our community presence.
- Operational Management: Manage inventory, pricing, and logistics to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and maximize profitability.
Qualifications/Experience
- Extensive experience in coffee roasting and green coffee buying, with a deep understanding of flavour profiles and sensory evaluation.
- Experience in using and developing Roasting software and inventory management software.
- Proven ability to develop and implement coffee programs that drive sales and customer satisfaction.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for building relationships in the coffee community.
- A commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
