Café Manager (full-time role)
The Bach is a kiwi style café that opened in August 2016 on busy Broadway Market in Hackney, East London with a recent second location on Hoxton Street.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious candidate to take on a rewarding management role and be part of continuing to build our exciting new coffee and brunch destination on Hoxton Street alongside the team at our Broadway Market location. Fun, positive applicants only!
We would like a Manager to take ownership of the business in line with the owners’ vision. The ideal candidate will be need to be comfortable on the floor, greeting and seating guests, behind the coffee machine, in the office doing rotas and on social media interacting and driving business. Coffee is super important to this business so we are looking for a Manager with a strong interest in food and coffee and 1-3 years of experience as a high-level barista/café supervisor in a high volume environment.
You will have the support of a very experienced operations team, but passion, enthusiasm and a willingness to run the cafe as if it was your own business are a must!
You will need to have a genuine love for people, whether it is the customer base at Hoxton Street or when nurturing and developing our young team.

Qualities & Experience
Experience in high volume environment
Excellent customer service and people skills
Great coffee knowledge and independent cafe industry knowledge
Self-motivated and forward thinking
Ability to build positive relationships with staff and customers
Minimum 2-years management experience in busy café and coffee environment
Impeccable organizational skills and ability to use excel spreadsheets/ medium computer literate
Awareness of food intolerances as well as current foodie trends
Genuine interest in the East London Independent Café, coffee and restaurant scene
Day-to-Day management of the café including keeping customer service and staff morale high
Managing ordering of products in conjunction with the Café Supervisors
Organizing the staff Rota
Developing menus in partnership with the chef
Driving forward retail and café income
Organizing staff training and staff social events
Supporting the company owners with building the business to make it a lovely place for staff and customers.
Full-time 40 hours per week and must be happy to work both weekend shifts as standard as these are our busy times.
