at CONA
CONA is a unique conceptual space combining a coffee shop and a nail salon. The two businesses exist as separate entities, so customers can still come in and enjoy a beautiful cup of coffee without getting a manicure, and vice versa. CONA has great ambitions to be a destination for great specialty coffee and will be needing an ambitious cafe manager to take us further.
We have the best equipment on hand so that you can show off your skills and take pride in your work. We use La Marzocco’s KB90, Mahlkonig E80 and EK43. Currently, our house blend is by Square Mile and we are featuring DAK as our guest, single origin espresso and on batch.
We’re looking for friendly and knowledgable full-time Cafe Manager to join us in brewing the best coffees. You must have exceptional mastery of coffee, from different brewing ratios and a comprehension of roast profiles. The ability to talk about the journey of coffee from farm to cup, the command over knowing origins, processing methods and variety. Not only must you be look smart, but we also expect mastery over latte art to wow an audience. You will be responsible for providing great, genuine customer service, being able to produce drinks to a consistently high standard and also train new staff who join the team.
You will be expected to conceptualise new espresso recipes with our rotation of guest roasters; taste batch and tweak recipes for non-coffee beverages. We are also in plans of introducing a brew bar and hosting cupping events in the near future.
You will be working closely with the owner, who will also like another coffee nerd to conceptualise new ideas for CONA and discover new roasters to feature in the shop. We would also appreciate an all-rounder who will be happy to assist in the daily operations of the café such as cleaning, cashing up and handling pastries.
We are offering competitive pay, unique working conditions and a chance to grow as a key member of our exciting team!
We will be prioritising candidates who can start immediately, but will also wait patiently for the right individual. Considering our fresh start, we are hoping for a flexible candidate who can work 40-45 hours a week, as we continue to assemble a team and find out feet.
Benefits include 28 days holiday, paid breaks every shift, free staff meals and drinks, staff discounts on coffee training, cupping and tastings regularly. And our cycle to work scheme.
