We are recruiting for Café Managers for our central London cafes and and we are looking for people with a minimum of 2 years specialty coffee experience.
As an Old Spike Café Manager, you will have a passion for speciality coffee and you‘ll be making sure your team are serving awesome coffee - espresso, filter and pour-over, every time.
We are seeking someone who can take the coffee shop and help grow and develop it, and our people, as we expand.
Being able to work independently and confidently whilst inspiring your team is key. Our team are the heart and soul of the shop and being able to work alongside them and providing them everything they need is essential.
Your duties as a Café Manager will be:
Help baristas in a positive and encouraging manner keep the site looking well presented.
Focused on effectively managing staffing costs, rotas and GPs
Build relationships with the local community to become the heartbeat of the local area.
Ability to clean grinders as well as finding new recipes.
Carry out deep cleans of equipment / shops and surroundings when necessary.
Monitor quality and provide positive, respectful feedback to baristas – in the form of on-shift training.
Support the induction training for all new team ensuring regular reviews and feedback on their performance and objectives.
Help support the development of trainees who have experienced homelessness through our development programme become employable baristas.
Managing stock levels and ordering when necessary.
Ensuring Health & Safety procedures are being performed.
Look for ways to improve what we do.
You will be working on either a Synesso espresso S200, 2 x Mahlkonig E65S GBW and 1 x EK43S shop grinder.
