Host Café is an ethical non-profit cafe run by St Mary Aldermary Church in the City of London. In its unique location, Host Café creates a place where City workers, freelancers, visitors, tourists, and many more people find a place to relax. Our aim focus is to give back to the community and we do so by working with social enterprises, running a suspended coffee scheme, and putting our heart into what we do.

Job description:

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and a “can do will do” attitude to join our team. We offer a part-time position of 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday with shifts between 7.00 and 17.30 at the London Living Wage current rate of £13.85/h with the possibility of overtime.

Experience as a barista is a plus but a can-do attitude and willingness to learn to allow is more important. Knowing the value of customer service where customer loyalty is highly valued and everyone is welcomed with a smile. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, but also able to make good use of time in quiet moments. Keeping up high standards of food and drink preparation and service.

We provide Barista Training with Bailies Coffee Roasters, Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene and SCA courses for permanent employees. Flexible in a variety of roles including serving customers, preparing food and coffee, inventory check, updating social media pages and overseeing the back bar.

It is important to us that our staff have the place to grow, share ideas, let their creativity flow and bring their own touch to the team.
