We are The Coffee Jar, a cosy independent cafe near Regent's Park. Open for almost two years, we specialise in quality coffee, using Monmouth as our house blend, and also offer delicious homemade savouries and cakes.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and committed full-time barista to complete our small, extremely passionate team. The ideal candidate (that's you!) will have a minimum of two years' experience working in a similar environment, preferably in London. You should possess in-depth knowledge of the independent coffee scene, together with a desire to learn more and to expand your knowledge in this field.
We use a two-group La Marzocco Linea and Mazzer grinders, and you will need to be confident in using this equipment, carrying out machine adjustments and grinder calibrations when necessary. You should have comprehensive knowledge of espresso extraction, and will need to be accomplished in preparing a variety of espresso-based drinks, always presenting these with latte art.
We take great pride in our workplace, and the perfect person for this role must share our commitment to cleanliness, keeping our cafe and equipment maintained to an extremely high standard at all times. Knowledge of HACCAP procedures and possession of a Food Safety Certificate is desirable, however, training will be provided for the right candidate.

This is a full-time position (five days a week, with one day to be a Saturday or Sunday) averaging 37.5 hours per week with more hours offered if wanted.
