We are an award winning independent food shop looking for a leading barista to join our team in our Hampstead and Primrose Hill shops at a time of expansion for the company.    Melrose and Morgan opened 12 years ago, the concept of partners Ian James and Nick Selby who created a unique offer that was quickly hailed as Best New Deli in Time Out and "a masterclass in how to run a modern grocery" by Mary Portas. A leader in its field, the team created an environment which was different to most others with a very powerful brand, a dedication to local sourcing and small suppliers, a seasonal menu made by their own chefs and a growing  reputation for premium food retailing and production which is on an expanding path right now. We also pride ourselves on our coffee which is from Climpson and Sons and is a destination product driving ever growing footfall to our shops. Coffee is central to the updated shop offer and we know that the quality we produce is driving great progress for the company. We want to have the best coffee in the area and want baristas who enjoy delivering that to our loyal and discerning customers. We have an ongoing relationship with Climpsons who support the baristas and also train the core team who are needed to cover at different shifts throughout the week. Each shop has its own unique environment and they each have a loyal and ever expanding customer base who like their professional, relaxed and homely offer. We work mostly with local suppliers, sourcing over 70% of what is sold from within a 6 mile radius working with many small, entrepreneurial artisan producers who are part of the ever expanding London food scene. In addition their own fleet of 20 chefs produce a range of savoury and sweet products in their Chalk Farm production kitchens to supply exclusively to the shops as well as wholesale some elements to other retailers such as Selfridges and Albion. The role we are currently looking for is a weekend barista who will also be able to fulfil other holiday cover shifts where possible. We require an innate dedication to great quality coffee and an ability to communicate with our customers some of whom have been getting the same coffee from us for over a decade!
