Common Ground is a speciality coffee & tea shop in the heart of Altrincham, championing locally sourced food & drinks from across the North West. We serve a wide range of fine food – all day brunch, open sandwiches and soup, cakes and pastries, alcohol and soft drinks. Common Ground was launched by three Olympic athletes – Liam Phillips, Jessica Varnish & Francesca Halsall, who shared a passion for sport and a ‘no compromise’ approach to making incredible coffee. Just after the Rio Olympics, they became aware of the old Mirabelle Grill on Shaw’s Road – a fantastic location for a speciality coffee shop. After a huge renovation project, Common Ground opened in June 2017 and rapidly became a go to destination, close to the award winning Altrincham Market. The passion of the team serving amazing coffee and brunch has attracted many loyal customers who have now become friends. August 2018 saw the start of the next chapter, with Damian Besbrode taking over the business. “Common Ground already has a great reputation for serving incredible speciality coffee & tea and this will remain at the heart of our business. We are expanding our menu to include delicious seasonal salads, open sandwiches and an array of afternoon teas, all of which can be accompanied with a wide selection of soft and alcoholic drinks. I’m championing local producers, who I have met over the past year, to source seasonal food & drink from across the North West." We are looking for experienced baristas to join our team.
